Helios Capital Management Pte. Ltd (“Helios Singapore”) is the 85% plus partner of Helios Capital India (Helios India).

Helios Capital Management Pte. Ltd, founded in 2005, is a Singapore based asset management company managing India focused Long/Short & Long Only Fund/mandate and a global Long Only equity fund. Helios Singapore is a holder of Capital Markets Services License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and registered as a Foreign Portfolio Investor with the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

• Samir Arora is the main founder & CEO and fund manager of Helios Singapore. Samir started his investment career in 1991, joining Alliance Capita in New York as an International Analyst covering sectors in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In 1993 he relocated to Mumbai as Alliance Capital’s first employee in India and was the Equity Fund Manager and CIO of Alliance Capital’s Indian mutual fund business until 2003. In 1998, Samir moved to Singapore to additionally become Head of Asian Emerging Markets at Alliance Capital, Singapore where in addition to managing all India dedicated funds and mandates, he also managed Alliance Capital’s various Emerging Asia (covering 9 markets) funds and allocations.
  At Alliance Capital, India-dedicated mutual funds managed by Samir received over 15 awards during his tenure, including  AAA rating from Standard and Poor’s Micropal for four years in a row (1999 to 2003) for the India Liberalization Fund. In 2002, he was voted as the most astute equity investor in Singapore (rank: 1st) in a poll conducted by The Asset magazine. More recently Helios Strategic Fund (a fund managed by Samir at Helios Singapore) has been nominated for the Best India Fund by Eurekahedge in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 & 2018 and has won the award 4 times. Helios Strategic Fund was also the winner at the Asia Hedge Awards 2018 for Best Long Term (5 years) performance.
  Samir Arora received his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi in 1983 and his MBA (gold medalist) from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 1985. He also received a master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and was a recipient of the Dean’s scholarship for distinguished merit while at Wharton

• Dave H. Williams was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Capital Management, New York from 1977 to 1999. Subsequently he was the Chairman and then Chairman Emeritus of Alliance Capital Management from 1999 to 2004.
  In the past, Dave has been a director of the USS Intrepid Museum Foundation and the Skyscraper Museum. He is a recipient of the Order of the Civil Merit from the government of Spain, the Polish Order of Merit, Cavalier of the Grand Cross of Poland and the Grand Decoration of Honor in silver for merits to the republic of Austria. These awards relate primarily to his role in the founding of financial institutions in these countries.
  Dave Williams has been a director of many public corporations including Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, Inc. (1977-85) and India Liberalization Fund from its inception in 1993 until his resignation in 2003. Dave was also a trustee of the Alliance Capital Mutual Fund in India from 1995 to 2003.
  Dave Williams received his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Texas, Austin in 1956 and an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1961 where he was a Baker Scholar. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a past Chairman and a current member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and past board member of the Financial Analysts Federation.

• Karan Trehan, based in New York, was the Chairman of Alliance Capital Asset Management India from 1994 to 2005. Ankar Capital, a company founded by Karan, was the 25% local partner to Alliance Capital in India.
  Karan was the President & CEO of Alliance Capital International (1990-2000), where he established local asset management companies and distribution relationships around the world. He also worked at Goldman Sachs (1981-1989) in fixed income sales and capital markets and was responsible for Goldman’s coverage of Non-US financial institutions. Karan has also worked at The World Bank.
  Karan Trehan received an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1977, a B.Sc in Business from the American University in Washington D.C and a B.A. in Economics from Delhi University, New Delhi. He has also been a trustee of the United World Colleges in the past.

Alok Bahl is Head of Trading at Helios Singapore and has been with the company since its inception in 2005. Prior to relocating to Singapore with Helios Singapore, Alok worked in India with various sell side firms in sales and dealing for over 14 years.

Alok Bahl has a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from K C College of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Dimpee Bali is a Fund manager at Helios Singapore managing a global equity fund (Helios Global Alpha Fund). Prior to joining Helios, Dimpee was a Founder/Director of DJ & Hangan Family Offices Pte Ltd., Singapore from 2008 to 2017. Before that she was the CEO at Netsetgo Solutions (P) Ltd, New Delhi and has also worked at the CII.

Dimpee has an MBA from University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a Master of Science from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur India.

Nawal Gupta is the Chief Operating Officer of Helios Singapore and has been with the company since 2007. Prior to joining Helios, he last worked in India at DSP Investment Managers as Head of Fund Administration, Settlements and Custody from November 2001 to June 2007. He has also worked in Risk Management, corporate banking at Citibank N.A from November 2000 to November 2001. Nawal was Senior Manager, Operations at Prudential ICICI Asset Management Co. Ltd from May 1998 to November 2000.

Nawal Gupta is a Chartered Accountant and a Cost & Works Accountant from India.

Sachin Honap is Vice President – Operations at Helios Singapore and has been with the company since its inception in 2005. Prior to joining Helios, he worked at Alliance Capital Management in India as a Senior Manager from August 2000 to May 2005. He has also worked with Stock Holding Corporation of India and Unit Trust of India – Investment Advisory Services in the past.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Pune
